Amkor Technology, Inc. (Amkor) is one of the world’s largest providers of outsourced semiconductor packaging and test services. Founded in 1968, Amkor pioneered the outsourcing of IC packaging and test and is now a strategic manufacturing partner for the world’s leading semiconductor companies, foundries and electronics OEMs. Amkor’s operational base includes production facilities, product development centers and sales and support offices located in key electronics manufacturing regions in Asia, Europe and the USA.

The project covers on an area of about 23 hectares in Yen Phong II-C Industrial Park with a total investment capital of USD 1.6 billion by 2035. Accordingly, in the first phase, the project will be funded USD 520 million to be disbursed within 5 years from the date of the Investment Registration Certificate issuance. The project is expected to start construction in the first quarter of 2022.

This will be a modern smart factory in Bac Ninh. The first phase of the new factory will focus on providing Advanced System in Package (SiP) assembly and test solutions to the world’s leading semiconductor and electronic manufacturing companies.

Attraction for investment projects with a large amount of capital in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic is a testament to the determination and prestige of Bac Ninh province to investors. The project will create a premise for Bac Ninh province to appear on the world map of semiconductor manufacturing as well as a new driving force in the development of high-tech industry in Bac Ninh province in the following years.
