Newly established enterprises increased 16% compared with the same period
According to the report by the Department of
Planning and Investment, in the first five months of the year, the whole
province had 1,044 newly registered enterprises with a total capital of more
than VND 12,144 billion, an increase of 16% in the number of enterprises and an
increase of 77% in the capital compared with the same period of 2020. The
average registered capital per newly established enterprise reached VND 11.6
billion, an increase of 80% compared with the same period.
Also in 05 months, the whole
province had 373 enterprises registered to re-operate; 595 enterprises
registered to suspend operations; 95 enterprises implemented the dissolution
procedures voluntarily; 124 enterprises transformed their type of operation.
Accumulated up to now, 18,556
enterprises are operating in the province with a total charter capital of more
than VND 308,251 billion; the average registered capital per enterprise reached
VND 16.61 billion. In which, 10,306 One-member limited companies; 4,944 Limited
companies with 2 or more members; 2,791 Joint stock companies; 500 Private
enterprises and 01 Partnership.

FDI attraction in the first 5 months of the year doubled
In the first 5 months of the
year, although the FDI attraction had a sharp decrease in the number of
registered projects, the total registered capital was more than 2 times higher
than the same period last year.
From January 01, 2021 to May 20,
2021, the whole province granted newly to 52 FDI projects, a decrease of 36.6%
compared with the same period last year, with a total registered capital of USD
320.7 million, an increase of 106%. This is a remarkable result when the
epidemic situation is complicated, affects the investment activities of the
enterprises in the province, the registered capital size continues to increase.
Particularly in May, the whole
province granted new investment registrations to 14 FDI projects with a total
registered investment capital of USD 61 million; adjusted the capital for 07
projects with an increased adjusted capital of USD 5.8 million.
The enterprises investing in
Bac Ninh province are mainly the industrial production, trade and warehousing
transportation, accounting for a density of 65%, 1.6% and 33.5%, respectively.
The province’s intensification of on-the-spot investment promotion through the
creation of images from large FDI enterprises has attracted a lot of investors
from many countries and territories with advanced, modern industrial production
such as: Korea, Singapore, China, EU, USA...
3. Index of industrial production still increased over the same
period
Due to the impact of the
Covid-19 epidemic, the index of industrial production (IIP) in the province
decreased by 2.21% compared to the last month but still increased by 31.67%
compared to the same month last year.
In the processing and
manufacturing industry, the electronic product, computer and optical product
production industry still maintained effectively the production and business as
planned in 2021, although decreased by 10.1%, still achieved a high increase of
33.8%.
Generally in 5 months, IIP in
the province still increased by 14% over the same period last year, of which:
Processing and manufacturing industry increased by 14.1%; production and
distribution of electricity, gas and hot water increased by 11.2%; for the
water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment industry decreased
by 3.9%.
4. Merchandise trade surplus was nearly USD 2.8 billion
In the first 5 months of 2021,
the commodity import and export in the province continued to achieve the
highest increase in the period 2017-2021, and also achieved the highest trade
surplus.
In which, the export turnover
was estimated at USD 16,648 million, an increase of 36.4% over the same period
last year. The import turnover was estimated at USD 13,861 million, an increase
of 30.1% over the same period last year.
The balance of trade in goods,
estimated in the first 5 months of 2021, had a trade surplus of USD 2,787
million.
