According
to the report of the Department of Planning and Investment, in 2020, despite
facing many difficulties and challenges, especially the Covid-19 epidemic, the
socio-economic situation of Bac Ninh still achieved the outstanding results.
The scale of GRDP continues to be expanded, estimated at 204.6 trillion VND,
ranked the 7th nationwide; Per capita GRDP was estimated at 144.2 million VND,
2.1 times higher than the national average. Take advantage of the “golden”
opportunity to welcome a new wave of quality FDI capital flows, with a total
investment capital of over 858 million USD. The industrial production value was
estimated at 1,120 million VND, increased 1.2% compared to 2019. The export of
goods was estimated at 35,072 billion USD, increased 3% compared to 2019;
import at 31,520 billion USD, increased 12.3%. The State budget revenue was
estimated at 28,785 billion VND, of which the domestic revenue was estimated at
23,535 billion VND.
The
administrative reform has been strengthened, the Provincial Competitiveness
Index (PCI) ranked fourth out of 63 provinces and cities (increased 11 places,
with the highest score after 8 years); public administration reform index (PAR
INDEX) ranked eighteenth out of 63 (increased 5 places); The information and
communication technology development index (ICT Index) ranked sixth out of 63 (increased
5 places).
Bac
Ninh has completed the new rural program with 100% of communes that were recognized
to meet the new rural standards, 8/8 districts, towns and cities are eligible,
reached the new rural standards.
The
culture, education and health have developed, focusing on propaganda to welcome
the Party Congress at all levels to the 13th Congress of the Party.
Bac Ninh ranked first for the quality of the prizes, second in the rate of
students winning prizes compared to the other provinces in the Red River Delta
in the National Contest for Excellent Students; 01 student participated in the
International Physics Olympiad (won the Bronze Medal); for the high-achievement
sports, there are athletes who won the official tickets to attend the Olympics,
athletes who broke the world record.
Recognizing
and highly appreciating the efforts, participation of the agencies, units and
localities, speaking at the meeting, the Chairwoman of the Provincial People's
Committee emphasized that 2020 is a particularly difficult year due to the
influence of Covid-19 epidemic, but with effort and creative and effective way,
Bac Ninh achieved the positive results with many bright points. Achieving the
above results is due to the consensus and determination of the whole political
system in implementing well the “dual goal” in both epidemic prevention and control
and socio-economic development.
It
is forecasted that by 2021, the world and regional situation will change,
continue to develop complicatedly and unpredictably; Vietnam's economy is
forecasted to face many difficulties and challenges, the Chairwoman of the
Provincial People's Committee requests all levels and sectors to continue to
well perform the “dual” task of both socio-economic development and Covid-19 epidemic
prevention and control; concretize the tasks and objectives of the Resolution
of the 20th Provincial Party Congress.
